Featuring Qinghai (Seigaiha) wave patterns, which is a traditional Japanese pattern used since ancient times, this furoshiki has been dyed diagonally for a blue and white contrasting background. You might see this pattern on many Japanese items like rice bowls and fabrics, and in this case, furoshiki. The pattern appears to have originated from ancient Chinese maps, which was then used for costumes in traditional Japanese court dances.

The aethestic and calming colour tone may make this a preferable furoshiki for men to wrap their lunch boxes and other man-gear. But of course, it is suited for anyone who loves a traditional Japanese design.
