a Komon when translated to English loosely means 'Flower Crest'. In Japan, there are 366 flower crest symbols (including leap year) that represents each day of the year. These flower crests were invented to convey special meaning to each day of the year, and as an extension, to celebrate birthdays and to bring good luck.

This furoshiki features a 'Dream Flower Crest' (Yume Hana Komon), which is actually a symbol different from the other 366 'standard' crests. The flower crests adorn three backdrop of colours with a navy blue theme. The combination of colours gives this wrapping cloth a traditional Japanese and elegant aesthetic. It has been dyed using a traditional dyeing technique called "Nassen", and the cotton shantung uses threads of uneven thickness that results in a unique and luxurious feeling.

This cloth can be used to not only wrap 1 and 2 tiered bento boxes, but also as a resuable gift wrap, or as a beautiful cover for household items.
