Like the shiraki wappa koban bento box, this cha (brown) version keeps the focus on a simple and traditional Japanese wappa design. 

The dark brown colour almost has an urushi (Japanese lacquer) hue to it. Each bento box has been carefully coated by hand by a lacquerware craftsperson to mimic a wooden bento box. The surface also has a slightly rough texture rather than completely smooth, so it wouldn't be a surprise if it was mistaken for real wood. 

On the side of the bento box are dark square marks - stoppers that aid in the creation of the bent-wood (magewappa) in actual wooden bento boxes. This detail adds a charm point to this bento box. 

The bento box is not only microwave and dishwasher safe, but also has an anti-bacterial coating that surpresses the growth of bacteria and mold. A removable divider lets you organize your food, and the inner lid keeps wet foods in check (we don't recommend liquid foods). 

Comes with an elastic bento lunch band, and a tassel for presentation.
