This tenugui features "The Moon and Geese" artwork, a famous ukiyo-e print by Hiroshige Utagawa, a renowned ukiyo-e artist who was active during the Edo period.  He is most famous for his landscape paintings of the Fifty-three stations of the Tōkaidō, and along side Katsushige Hokusai, is one of the most famous Ukiyo-e artists from Japan.

This tenugui is made from 100% cotton double layered gauze, and is very soft to the touch and highly absorbent. Use it as an everyday hand towel at home or travel. The print is a perfect for anyone who appreciates Japanese art.

Unlike traditional tenugui, all the edges of this tenugui are hemmed, typically of double gauze tenuguis.

About tenugui

Tenugui are very thin pieces of cotton fabric. You can use them for pretty much anything. While they are traditionally used as a hand towel because of their superiour absorption properties, you can use them as a table runner, wrap, head scarf (they are commonly used as a head band in Kendo), and even just as a decorative tapestry piece.
